Kat at Fort San Lorenzo, Panama

My close friends call me Kat, and I created GoStrayCat.com travel adventures after repeated urging from friends and family to get into travel writing.  I hope to entertain readers of all ages and backgrounds the world over with humorous anecdotes and photos of my travels, while imparting useful bits of knowledge along the way.  So whether you are a jet-setter always on the go, or an armchair traveler, join me on the discovery trail as I continue to learn about the world.

My adopted family in Texas made a lot of my earlier travels possible.  I saw a good part of the world with them when I was younger, and I am grateful to have them in my life and for their continued support.  Eventually I will get you that first-edition signed copy, Bob!

As my wanderlust grew, the scope of my travels expanded.  Eventually, I’d like to visit at least 6 of the seven continents.  I’m not very fond of the cold, so if I don’t make it to Antarctica I won’t be disappointed.  As I hinted earlier, a book might be in my future…but right now there are too many places I want to visit.

As my influence in the industry increases, I look to transition into a full-time career where my travel addiction will support my social lifestyle and educate the masses at the same time.  How’s that for a lofty goal?

A good place to start…

Many sites have so much information it can be overwhelming!  A good place to begin any journey is with personal safety.  The rose-colored glasses I viewed the world with broke a while back, and the news always has some new report of violence happening somewhere.  So I created a helpful travel tips page that includes personal safety, since it is such an important issue.  I also have a page dedicated to travel gear where I have discussed some of the things that have worked well time and again for me.  Having the right gear, or tool for the job, is always a plus.

On a Side note…

Some of the links on my site contain affiliate referrals.  If you choose to buy an item through these links to take with you on your own travel adventures, I will earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you), that will help reduce the cost of maintaining GoStrayCat.  I only affiliate with products I personally like and use, so don’t expect a barrage of advertising to overshadow your visit to my website.

Walk with me down my travel adventures’ Memory Lane…

Kat catches the big oneBe sure to browse through the GoStrayCat Recollections page.  I hid some humorous accounts of past travel adventures here that you won’t want to miss!  From the kamikaze bikes in Amsterdam to the biggest surprise of all on the sidewalk in Brussels, Europe through my eyes might be different than you imagined.  Come face to face with the coati in Panama…will you survive?  The stories of my life unfold with a touch of humor and sarcasm that will entertain you, to say the least.

Disclaimer…

The content of this site is based solely on my personal experiences.  All photos are my own, unless otherwise noted.  In some instances I used fictitious names to protect the identities of minors, and of those who wished to remain anonymous.  I strive to consistently deliver quality writing and interesting insights from around the globe.  I hope to inspire people to explore the world – or to tag along with me and experience it vicariously.  To the betterment of society, I aim to dispel  misconceptions with first-hand experience.
